Howdy!!

After selling my XR Challenge XR2 i decided to buy another lol

This is an ex-Ford Saloon class C XR2 from about 4 or 5 years back.

Ignore the graphics and stickers as these will be removed asap

not 100% sure who raced it but would be nice to know any history etc as my mate who i bought it off is clueless (literally)

can tell this cos he filled water up to fire it up without anti freeze and left it in his garage at home for 2 winters and now there is a crack in water jacket in block (numb nuts)

So now i need to have the bottom end re-built into another block

aparently the engine was re-built/refreshed before my mate bought it, oil is new so may have been? possibly by PJ Motorsport if i remeber

Not sure on spec etc I'm assuming around 130/140 at wheels as it has a single 40 DCNF downdraft carb, 4 branch etc. need to check cam etc

not sure whether to leave it as it is mechanically or put it back to group N spec and do BOSS in it. I have 2 good engines just incase

Looks good, will be nice to have you out to race this year, i think BOSS all the way.
It looks like the races will be split very soon if the numbers stay where they are at the moment, which will be very good indeed.

Will try and find out some info on your car and let you know.

Here are the updated pics of the XR2 after racing at Oulton Park in the CSCC Tintops

qualified 5th out of 10 in class only 6 secs off the pole in class

the cars in front of me all had around 160 BHP at the wheels and i only had a meserly 88 at the wheels as my engine is tired

finished 5th in class and thats after a drive through penalty for taking belts off too early in pit lane during pit stop ARGHHHHH!!!!!!

I'm hoping to race in BOSS at Oulton in Sept if I can get hold of a pair of standard platform Ledas

unless Mr Beeney lets me use my coilovers as a one off?Huh

Hi Jason.

Good result matey. I'm sure if you talk to Mr B nicely he'll allow you out to play with the BOSS at Oulton.

Hopefully see you there.
